6.3 Simulator Screenshots of the E-Reader
The basic version of the software for the E-Reader has been implemented using the Nano-x
framework. To utilize the memory more efficiently all windows are not loaded when the
program is initialized. Windows are created and mapped as the user navigates from one
window to another. All previous windows are destroyed when the user leaves that specific
window hence saving memory space. The following are some screenshots of menus and
popup windows. The idea is to clarify the implementation’s ambiguity as much as possible for
the reader of this report. In this chapter, to present the data in a structured form, the
screenshots illustrates one branch of the menu tree i.e. after navigating the main menu when
the user selects “Read Books” option then sub menu of “Read Books” will be shown. Inside
the sub menu the user has the option to select any book from the list of available books. When
the book is open different options, like turning pages, search a word inside the book and jump
to any desired page, is given to the user.
The first screenshot in figure 6.3 is the main menu, which will be shown to the E-Reader’s
user after boot-up process. The user shall, after navigating with the arrow-keys, select any
option from the main menu by pressing “Enter” button or “F4” button to exit (i.e. Turnoff
device) from the program.
